Employer and insurer were jointly and severally made liable

The Commissioner fixed joint and several liability. The vehicle owner and insurance company were directed to pay. The award was for Rs. 3,73,747. Interest was ordered at 12 per cent per annum. The Supreme Court restored this award in full. The High Court judgment setting it aside was reversed. The compensation determination therefore remained operative.
