Removal from service requires a sustainable evidentiary foundation

The appellant had served for approximately 27 years. His removal was based exclusively on four judicial orders. The Court examined whether those orders established misconduct. The material did not sufficiently establish corrupt motive. A severe service consequence requires a legally sustainable basis. Suspicion arising from a judicial outcome is not enough. The appeal was allowed and the removal order set aside. The judgment reaffirmed evidence-based disciplinary review. Nirbhay Singh Suliya v. State of Madhya Pradesh & Anr. | 2026 INSC 7
