A decree holder is entitled to meaningful, not merely formal, relief

The original decree required execution of a sale deed and delivery of possession. The decree holder had pursued enforcement over many years. Repeated proceedings impeded practical enjoyment of the decree. The Court took account of the prolonged hardship. Effective justice requires more than a paper declaration of rights. Execution should not be endlessly delayed by repetitive claims. The Court issued directions to secure the benefit of the decree. This approach served the ends of justice in the circumstances.
