Insufficiency of general, omnibus, and uncorroborated allegations to sustain conviction for dowry death

dictates that broad or vague assertions of "mental and physical harassment" without concrete instances or detailed particulars cannot form the basis of a criminal conviction against family members. Where witnesses depose in generalities without attributing specific, overt acts of cruelty, dowry demands, or continuous mistreatment to a particular accused, such testimony remains legally fragile and inadequate. Criminal jurisprudence requires individualized culpability to be established with precision, and the absence of specific dates, occasions, or narrations directly connecting an accused person to acts of cruelty precludes a finding of guilt under Section 304-B. (Munni Devi Vs State of Uttar Pradesh | 2026 INSC 136).
