Other grounds may be raised after investigation
Respondents retained liberty to challenge charge-sheets on other grounds. The liberty covered charge-sheets already filed and those filed later. Other contentions could be raised after conclusion of the investigation. The High Court was not to entertain further challenges on the issue already decided. The judgment therefore distinguishes the settled issue from reserved issues. It does not determine every possible objection to prosecution. The timing of further challenges was expressly specified. The operative directions govern how the litigation may proceed. (The Joint Director (Rayalaseema), Anti-Corruption Bureau, A.P. & Anr. v. Dayam Peda Ranga Rao | 2026 INSC 37)
