Effect of G.O.Ms. No. 268 dated 12 September 2003
The Government of Andhra Pradesh issued G.O.Ms. No. 268 in 2003. It declared specified Anti-Corruption Bureau offices to be police stations. The schedule assigned territorial jurisdiction to the listed offices. The notification separately specified officers who could act as officer in charge. The Joint Director, Central Investigating Unit, ACB, Hyderabad had State-wide jurisdiction. The order was issued under Sections 2(s) and 2(o) CrPC. The Court treated the order as an instrument having the trappings of law. It continued to govern unless lawfully altered, repealed or amended.
